Grassroots sports summit

The Grassroots Summit is attended by up to 150 grassroots sports club volunteers each October. The summit is managed in collaboration by Council, the Queensland Government Department of Sport and Recreation Services (Gold Coast Advisors), and Gold Coast Regional Sporting Bodies.  These sporting organisations meet in March each year, prior to the summit, to brainstorm issues and plan the agenda for the Grassroots session.

The Grassroots Summit focuses on strengthening relationships and in particular opening up transparent communication channels between all stakeholders in sport.  This event offers volunteers the opportunity to increase their knowledge of current and future sport and recreation challenges in the city, attend information sessions on management of Council assets and facilities, and brainstorm current issues and future initiatives.  The Grassroots Summit also offers the opportunity for attendees to provide advice, ideas and feedback in both formal and informal forums.
