Gold Coast Celebrates Earth Hour
The first ever community event on the Gold Coast for Earth Hour, was a great success! Stunning entertainment included family fun and a finale of fire and rhythm lead into the official Earth Hour at 8.30pm. Many people planned in advance, walked, cycled or carpooled with family and friends, with many people packing a picnic and bringing their reusable cups and plates.
Renewable energy, recycling and water conservation are just some of the environmental features of Broadwater Parklands, which made it the perfect venue for the event. Participants enjoyed being part of the interactive educational experience put on by Gold Coast City Council.
